History
ECUDOMEF (Eze Cletus and Ugoeze Dorothy Oparaoji Memorial Educational Foundation) also known as CADOMEF (Cletus and Dorothy Oparaoji Memorial Educational Foundation) was originally Amuzi Community Scholarship Endowment Fund.
The organization was founded in 1990, by Professor Edward Oparaoji, as a platform for educational advancement and human resource development, through award of scholarships to deserving students.
The name ECUDOMEF was adopted in 1998, in memory of Professor Oparaoji’s parents – Their Royal Highnesses, Eze (King) Cletus Oparaoji and Ugo-Eze (Queen) Dorothy Oparaoji. His parents were strong advocates of quality education, as the foundation for enhanced quality of life and national development. Their conviction agreed with the views of several international organizations. According to the World Bank’s assessment of Nigeria, “Employment remains the major issue for Nigeria with an estimated 50 million underemployed youth…, poverty is significant, and reducing it will require strong non-oil growth and a focus on human development”.
